INFORMATION ON THE 2024/25/1 TUITION LATE FEE

Dear Student!

The last deadline for the payment of the first semester tuition fees for the academic year 2024/2025 was 15 November 2024.

Due to the fact that - due to the annual maintenance of the Neptun Study System - it was not possible to settle the outstanding amount of debt via the study system on the payment deadline date, the payment deadline of 20 November 2024 will be taken into account for the payment of the late fee instead of 15 November 2024.

Please take note of the above.

Best wishes for a successful examination period:

Information

concerning the cash payment options of students

The University of Pécs (hereinafter: University) considers it of importance that out of the available payment methods its students have at their disposal for settling their finances, cashless payment is to be incentivized over the old-fashioned ways of cash payment. Thus, effective from the 30th of June, 2024, a joint order (hereinafter: Order) has been signed by the Rector’s Office and the University Chancellery to lay out the detailed rules, procedures and methodology of any cash payments that are made to the University.

Students paying in foreign currency and in Hungarian Forint (HUF) who are exempted from additional charges of cash payments

According to the rulings of the Order, students who are citizens of any of the countries listed below, may continue to handle their payment in cash at the University Cashier, without any additional charges imposed on their cash payment:

Afghanistan, Barbados, Burkina Faso, Republic of South-Africa, Republic of South Sudan, United Arab Emirates, Republic of the Philippines, Gibraltar, Haiti, Iran, Jamaica, Republic of Yemen, Republic of Cameroon, Democratic Republic of Congo, Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, Republic of Mali, Republic of the Union of Myanmar, Republic of Mozambique, Federal Republic of Nigeria, Republic of Panama, Republic of Senegal, Syrian Arab Republic, United Republic of Tanzania, Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, Republic of Uganda, Republic of Vanuatu, Socialist Republic of Vietnam

The University furthermore does not charge any additional fees in case of cash payment for students who have an authorization from the dean due to their special circumstances which could prevent them from fulfilling payments when using cashless methods.

Rules about students’ HUF and foreign currency payments subject to additional charges

According to the Order, any students who, on the basis of applicable law are able to handle their payments towards the University via cash transfer through a financial institution or via a direct transfer of currency and/or HUF but are still intending to pay by cash at the University Cashier, shall be charged additional handling fees.

The net-worth of the handling fee is equal to 1.5% of the amount of the currency used during payment. The student pays the gross amount of the handling fee during cash payments, which is rounded up to the next nearest round (ends with 0) numerical value.

Cash payments in HUF have a fixed net amount of 500 HUF/item or listing.

The payment of handling fees happens as an additional payment, in the same currency of the item that is paid. Being an additional payment, the University’s accounting system generates a separate invoice for it and thus the Cashier likewise provides a separate receipt for the payment upon it being carried out.

Cash payments of students handled at the offices of OTP Bank

Students also have the option to fulfill their payment obligation to the University in person at any of the offices of OTP Bank. Payment in such cases is handled at the expense of the bank’s own payment charges.

These handling fees are announced in info-statements issued by OTP Bank.

Any handling fees in such cases are paid in HUF and may be fulfilled exclusively with cash on the spot, at the time of the transaction. In case of foreign currency payments, the bank converts the handling fees to HUF according to the exchange rates applicable on the day of the transaction, that are announced OTP Bank itself.
