Dear Student!
I would like to draw your attention to the fact that as of March 1, 2024, there have been changes to Government Decree 38/2024 (II.29.) regarding public transportation travel discounts.
With the amendment of the government decree, the travel discount for students has changed as follows.
Travel discounts for full-time students:
- A 90% discount is applicable when purchasing passes for intercity transportation.
- The discount for tickets for intercity transportation has been discontinued.
- In the case of local transportation, pass discounts can be availed based on the information provided by the local public transportation company.
Travel discounts for part time students:
- The previously available travel discount based on active student status has been discontinued. If the student has not yet reached the age of 25, they are eligible for a 50% discounted ticket for local transportation based on their age.
If your student status changed from full-time to part-time during the second semester of the 2023/2024 academic year, and you have a student ID card validated with a sticker from the first semester of the 2023/2024 academic year, you can avail the associated travel discount until March 31, 2024.
For part-time students, we recommend applying for a student ID card only if its use extends beyond claiming travel discounts.
